Keeping it Real: An Exhibition of Four Parts: Act 1: The Corporeal
As part of its ongoing programme of opening up important art collections to the public the Gallery presents a series of four thematic exhibitions drawn from one of the foremost European collections of contemporary art, the D. Daskalopoulos Collection. The first act, The Corporeal, foregrounds works which examine the human body as a site of psychological, social and ideological struggle.

Performance and live art have a slippery relationship with art history’s traditional strategies for archiving material and tangible ‘matter’. Gavin Butt, Adrian Heathfield and Lois Keidan discuss why performance matters.

Intoart is an art collective that includes people with a learning disability. For this event they revisit their Whitechapel Gallery exhibition. Contributors to their latest book present live and recorded conversations followed by a discussion.

Michael Landy’s Art Bin (2010) was a ‘monument to creative failure’, asking artists to commit seemingly unsuccessful art to a giant skip. Lisa Le Feuvre discusses the art of failure and its lure for artists, critics and theorists, on the occasion of her new book.
