Official Launch Of The London Ice Sculpting Festival 2012

The 4th annual London Ice Sculpting Festival returns to Canary Wharf from 13th – 14th January 2012, with a real sparkler!

Celebrating the start of this year’s exciting FREE event, the first ice creation of 2012 will honour the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Year.  Created by the UK’s leading ice sculpture, ice design and ice art specialists ICEBOX will carve a stunning, giant Jubilee diamond from ice in Canary Wharf.


Canary Wharf is part of Tower Hamlets, one of 20 local authorities bidding to be named the UK's next City as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

From 8.30am - 10am  

TRANSPORT:             
Canary Wharf Underground and DLR stations. Parking is available in the Canada Place Car Park (height restriction 2m).

London Ice Sculpting Festival 2012 - Event Details:

Main Competition – Doubles - “Winter Sports”

The main competition features the theme Winter Sports.  The sculptors will have two days to complete their masterpieces, against the clock from a huge 2metre ice block. From 09:00 – 19:00 on Friday 13 and 08.00 - 16.00 on Saturday 14th January.

Speed Sculpting Competition – Singles - “Team Spirit”

Each competitor will have just 1½ hours to carve the theme of Team Spirit from a 1metre ice block on Saturday 14 January between 14.30 - 16.00.
