'Jack The Ripper' Private Viewings and Event Packages at the Museum in Docklands
2008-05-20

In May 2008 Museum in Docklands is returning to the scene of London’s most infamous crimes, with its major new exhibition, Jack the Ripper and the East End.
The story of Jack the Ripper is an integral part of London’s identity, it has shaped the way London and in particular the East End is imagined. Although no one knows who he was, Jack the Ripper’s story has passed into folk legend, and has gained a fictional currency, re-examined and re-invented by each generation.
In our new exhibition your guests will have the chance to examine the original documentation for the Jack the Ripper murders and investigations. Looking at the events as they unfold, the people involved and the way these events changed the media and the police.
Let your guests examine the evidence and discuss their conclusions over a glass of wine and canapés, or a seated dinner.
Inspired by the unique foods of the East End Head Chef Gustav Leipoldt has a produced a Jack the Ripper and the East End canapé and bowl food menu, a modern take on Victorian cuisine, such as the smoked mackerel, horseradish, gooseberry chutney. These are available in conjunction with our standard menus.
Our specially created ‘apples and pears’ gin cocktail will be available along with our homemade Victorian lemonade, and locally brewed Greenwich Meantime Pale Ale.
Packages start from £80.00 per person (minimum number of 80 guests), or bespoke events available - please contact the events team for a quote.
