East Wintergarden at Canary Wharf enjoys a revamp

The East Wintergarden, a spectacular glass covered atrium set in the heart of the Canary Wharf estate has received a technical renovation with the introduction of a new ILite 6mm resolution LED screen from BARCO and the cutting edge sound absorbing system MICROSORBER � from the Bremen based KAEFER Isoliertechnik (the largest installation in the UK).

The new screen supplied by XL Video will be installed by September and is perfect for PowerPoint, video and live camera. The screen is 4m x 3m and features unbeatable light output and unsurpassed colour depth and uniformity. From product launches and trade shows to gala dinners and music events, such presentations will be brought to life with the high quality display. The screen provides a 'ready-to-go' AV solution which allows clients to literally 'plug-in and play'. The design of the screen is slim-line with a brushed-steel frame, as well as an advanced heat management system that minimises internal heat build-up in the venue.

MICROSORBER ® technology has also been incorporated into the East Wintergarden which dramatically improves the acoustics of the venue. The micro-perforated polycarbonate foil, which is extremely thin and discreet, has been installed on the windows of the glass atrium. The foil's technology is situated in the 0.2mm diameter holes within the material which transforms sound energy into heat energy and thus reverberation times and sound levels are significantly reduced. .

With these two new introductions, the East Wintergarden now offers a 'total solution' to event management at the East Wintergarden. In addition to the screen and acoustic improvements the venue's installed Meyer PA system creates exceptional sound. A fully incorporated lighting system, venue truss and rigging as well as experienced event technicians can all be provided in-house for all types of events.

This Christmas the East Wintergarden will provide the perfect setting for festive parties of all kinds for those interested in savouring the lit Canary Wharf skyline whilst dancing the night away. Party bookings are available for guests wishing to literally sit under the stars inside the 27m high glass atrium. The vibrant colours and reflections from the adjacent waterfront are a particular sight to behold. The venue can hold up to one thousand people depending on the event chosen, with striking optional upgrades including Casino Tables, Aerial Performers and Live Bands.

The East Wintergarden, designed by Cesar Pelli, is a unique event space boasting a light and elegant atmosphere perfect for hosting cocktail parties, launches, receptions, fashion shows and press events accommodating up to approximately 800 people. It is located at 43 Bank Street above the Jubilee Place shopping mall, adjacent to the entrance to the Jubilee Line underground station and the DLR station at Heron Quays.
