Press Release - Mayor Backs ‘London’s First ICC’ at ExCeL London
Since opening in 2000, ExCeL London has enjoyed exceptional success, hosting over 2,500 events and welcoming over 5 million visitors, from 200 countries, worldwide. Having achieved our goals, we are now in a position to build on our success by increasing the venue's space, flexibility and functionality even further, as part of a seamless extension of the original building.
The existing venue offers 65,000sqm of event space, combined with a 100 acre waterfront campus, including 5 onsite hotels, over 30 cages, bars & restaurants and parking for 4,000 cars. The extension will increase the size of the current venue space by over 50% and will include a covered pedestrian walkway direct to the venue from Prince Regent DLR station, a 5,000 seated semi-permanent auditorium, additional 32,500sqm flat-floor event space, another conference suite for 1,200 delegates and permanent production kitchens.
