The Royal London Hospital provides district general hospital services for the City and Tower Hamlets and specialist tertiary care services for patients from across London and beyond. Britain’s biggest new hospital will include London’s leading trauma and emergency care centre, one of Europe’s largest renal services and one of the UK's biggest paediatric services, provided within a dedicated Women and Children’s Hospital.The much-needed redevelopment of The Royal London will transform the hospital experience for patients with state-of-the-art facilities and standards of care to rival the best in Europe. The proposals for The Royal London, together with those for Barts, will be able to provide a total of up to 1,248 beds. More than 40% of the beds will be single rooms with ensuite facilities; the remainder will be light and airy, with separate facilities for women and men. Friends and relatives will be able to stay in overnight rooms located close by.The hospital environment has been designed to be warm, safe, welcoming and healing.
